Winter is officially here and the busy month of December is upon us with school out, with parties to attend, with family gatherings and perhaps trips of one kind or another. And, don’t forget the hustle and bustle of shopping, and the planning and cooking, December is definitely one very busy month.

I want to tell you that our class members have not been idle when it comes to donating to our class fund. We now have $12,565.00 as of today! In fact, we have raised more than $3,000.00 since my last message to you just a month ago!

You surpassed my challenge to reach $10,000 by then end of the year!! I was not disappointed; I was amazed. And it is not yet December 31!!!

We are more than half way to reaching the $25,000 required to establish an endowment fund. Imagine that? Wow! Thanks everyone.

If we keep this up we will definitely meet our goal of at least $25,000.00 by the time we meet at Gally on our 50th reunion.

Summer has come and gone. Fall has come, and with it come many holidays in the next two months.
And, this month, we have a special video message from Celia May Laramie Baldwin.
 Fall also brings good news: Our gift fund has been growing steadily; we now have $9830.00
 This is absolutely amazing!! Thanks to all who have donated!!!
 It is less than two months until the end of the year. I would like to challenge each and
every member of the class of 1970 to help us reach at least $10,000.00 by December 31st. 

Can we meet this challenge?

I believe so!!!!!

TAKING A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

 

Back in September 1966, after a 78 hour bus ride from Eugene, Oregon, I arrived in Washington, D.C. in the middle of the night, long after curfew. I got a cab to Gallaudet University, the driver asked me if we were at the right place. I wasn’t sure as I had never been to Gallaudet before, but… When I saw the statue of Alice Cogswell and Thomas Gallaudet, I knew it was the right place. As I stared at the statue, I knew that Gally would be my home away from home for the next 5 years.

 

Those five years at Gally helped make me who I am today. I got a great education, a wonderful job, and many life long friends including my wonderful husband.

 

I am giving back to Gallaudet by participating in the Class of 1970 Gift Fund Campaign. I am contributing $350.00 by making 14 monthly installments of $25.00.

 

As of right now we have $6,110.00 towards our goal.

 

I hope you will join me and help us meet our minimum goal of $25,000 and target goal of $70,000.00.
