Barbara Carter Firestone was born on December 6, 1947 in Wisconsin. She and her family moved to Arizona when she was a little girl. She attended Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind (ASDB). She graduated in 1965. She entered Gallaudet as a Freshman. She worked at several schools in the east. Then she returned to Arizona to get her Masters Degree in University of Arizona (UA). She worked at the ASDB until she retired. She spent her time doing things she loved to do – traveling around the United States, helping deaf people when they needed help, and hanging out with her friends at the Senior Citizen Center. She had a big heart. She loved her family. She loved to wear baseball hats. She was a devout Catholic. She loved the Lord. She loved teaching other deaf members the Catholic gospel. She will be greatly missed. She is gone, but never will be forgotten. She will always be in the hearts of those who love her. She passed away on November 17, 2021 in Tucson, Arizona.
