CRUME LOUISE MARYLIN CRUME, "the Deaf Social Worker", age 67, died Feb. 9, 2013 from breast cancer. Beloved daughter of Alfred and Katheryn Lepka; loving sister of Alfred Lepka, Lucy Coleman and Vincent Lepka; wife of William Crume (married 43 years); mother of Peter and Philip Crume; mother-in-law of Kristen Hansen; grandmother of Cayla and Samantha Crume; godmother to Ronald Reuther III, and Marvin, Marthin, and Marchelle Junker. A graduate of Marshal Rhodes High School, Gallaudet U., and U. of MD. She earned a BA in Sociology, MA in Counseling, and Master of Social Work. Member and employee of St. Augustine Roman Catholic Church. Louise has been called a Mother Teresa by her friends, a matriarch of the Deaf community, a mother-hen who kept countless members of the deaf community under her wings. Having known abuse as a child she made it her life mission to give love and help to those in need, to mend broken families, and to improve the quality of life for her community.
