Biography of William Tyler Collins (Bill)
Bill passed away in Zephyrhills, Florida
at the age of 71 years old on Friday, October 10th,
2014
He was born in
Bellows Falls, Vermont.
He was predeceased by both his
parents and survived by his sister Caroline and his two-step
brothers, Max and Tyler and their families.
He graduated from
Clarke School for the Deaf in 1961 and Williston Academy in
1965.
He also graduated from Gallaudet
University in 1970 with a major in History Studies.
Later he took Theater Arts courses
at Gallaudet University and also at California State University.
Later he was involved with National
Theater of the Deaf and he was a scriptwriter and director at
Minnesota Deaf Theater.
Then he moved on to Tampa and did
some work on a deaf Theater, which ran out of funds.
From there he was an ASL Instructor
for several years.
He also traveled around the Europe
and Asia and had wonderful stories to tell us about his
adventures.
His hobbies were Reading novels,
Sports, Technology and keeping up with ASL Lit and History.
He loved us all and
we will miss our video chats with each other.
His friendship was genuine!
Now he is resting in Peace!
